Noida, May 7, 2026: IndiGo has announced that it will begin commercial operations from the new Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar starting next month. Ticket sales for the airline’s first routes are scheduled to open this afternoon.

The airline is scheduled to operate its inaugural flight from Lucknow to Noida that morning, marking the official opening of the new facility for scheduled passenger services. Potential travelers can begin booking seats for this and subsequent routes starting this afternoon through the airline’s official website and mobile application.

The commencement of flights follows the completion of the first phase of the airport, which is designed to serve as a secondary hub for the National Capital Region. Located in Western Uttar Pradesh, the airport aims to reduce the passenger load on Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport while providing a more convenient travel option for residents in Noida, Greater Noida, and surrounding districts. The facility currently features one runway and a passenger terminal capable of managing 12 million travelers annually.

Initially, the flight schedule will focus on domestic connectivity, with more routes to major Indian cities expected to be added as operations scale up. The airport is connected to the regional road network via the Yamuna Expressway. This launch is the result of several months of trial runs and regulatory approvals intended to ensure the site is ready for high-volume commercial traffic.
