Japanese Medical Delegation Advances Major Collaboration at Yamuna Expressway Authority to Boost Medical Devices Sector

Greater Noida, October 18, 2025: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is set to forge a critical international partnership following a high-level visit from Medical Excellence Japan (MEJ) officials, signalling a major step toward establishing the region as a hub for advanced medical technology.

Officials from MEJ visited YEIDA this week and met with Shri RK Singh, YEIDA CEO RK Singh, OSD YEIDA Shailendra Bhatia, and Praveen Kumar Mittal ED, EPCMD to finalize the details of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) focused on collaboration in the medical devices sector The proposed MOU between MEJ and YEIDA is designed to significantly benefit the upcoming Medical Devices Park in the region by:

  • Facilitating Investment: Attracting leading Japanese medical device companies to establish manufacturing and R&D units within the park.
  • Enabling Technology Transfer: Initiating the transfer of cutting-edge technology and know-how from Japanese firms to Indian companies.
  • Opening Export Channels: Creating new export opportunities for products manufactured by Indian companies at the park, targeting the specialized Japanese healthcare market.

“This partnership with Medical Excellence Japan is a game-changer for the Medical Devices Park and the ‘Make in India’ initiative,” said YEIDA CEO RK Singh. “It will accelerate the creation of a sophisticated healthcare ecosystem, driving innovation, and positioning us as a key global manufacturing location.”

A visit by senior MEJ leadership is planned for the coming month, during which the MOU will be officially signed. This will be swiftly followed by a delegation of leading Japanese medical device manufacturers who will visit the Medical Devices Park, meet with local Indian companies, and explore specific opportunities for joint ventures and collaborative manufacturing.

This strategic cooperation is expected to create a robust and mutually beneficial healthcare ecosystem between India and Japan, strengthening capabilities in advanced medical manufacturing.
