Jupiter Wagons Secures Orders Worth Over Rs 324 Crore From GATX India and Chetak International

New Delhi, November 2, 2026: Jupiter Wagons Limited has secured fresh private sector business worth over Rs 324 crore including GST, according to a company press release. The combined private sector business comprises a Letter of Intent from GATX India Private Limited and an order from Chetak International Private Limited, both for its new-design ACT2 wagon platform.
Jupiter Wagons Limited has received a Letter of Intent from GATX India Private Limited, a rail-leasing company, for the manufacture and supply of 10 rakes of ACT2 wagons, comprising 270 units, valued at Rs 214.94 crore. Separately, the company received an order from Chetak International Private Limited for five rakes of ACT2 wagons, comprising 135 units, valued at Rs 109.10 crore.
These contracts reinforce the growing traction for the company’s new-design ACT2 platform among private wagon-leasing and logistics operators. The wins come alongside momentum in the company’s Indian Railways business, including a recent Rs 1,140 crore order from the Ministry of Railways for 2,583 wagons, giving the firm a diversified order book balanced across government and private sector demand.

Commenting on the development, Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Wagons Limited, said, “These wins reflect the confidence that private wagon-leasing and logistics operators place in our new-design ACT2 platform and in our ability to deliver at scale. As India moves a greater share of its freight to rail, we are seeing strong, broad-based demand across both the Indian Railways programme and the private sector. A balanced order book across government and private customers gives us healthy visibility and a resilient foundation for growth, and we remain focused on executing with the discipline and quality our customers expect.”
The company stated that backed by its integrated manufacturing footprint and broad product portfolio, it remains focused on scaling capacity and execution to meet the accelerating demand for rolling stock across India’s rail freight and logistics landscape.
