Korean Delegation Visits YEIDA To Explore Investment Opportunities
Greater Noida, June 26, 2026: A high-level delegation from the Republic of Korea visited the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on June 25 to evaluate industrial and commercial investment opportunities in the region. The foreign delegation comprised prominent officials including Kim Jinsoo, Director of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources; Kang Hong Koo, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources; Sungjoong Cho, Commercial Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea; Donghyon Kim, Managing Director of the KOTRA South Asia Head Office; and Jaewook (Jake) Lee, Executive Director of the India-Korea Business Cooperation Desk at KOTRA, YEIDA said in a press release.
During the diplomatic and trade meeting, Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, IAS, Additional Chief Executive Officer of YEIDA, delivered a comprehensive presentation detailing the economic and investment potential of the Yamuna Expressway region. He specifically emphasized the area’s robust transit connectivity, the operationalization of the Noida International Airport, and the expanding industrial footprint of global anchor investors like Escorts Kubota and HCL-Foxconn. Corporate and state investments are actively pouring into critical manufacturing sectors including semiconductor chips, electronics manufacturing, medical devices, automobile components, and other emerging industrial segments, which have collectively reinforced the region’s industrial and logistics ecosystem.
A central highlight of the presentation was the introduction of the proposed Korean City layout, situated in Sector 4A of YEIDA, which has been systematically planned to attract and facilitate Korean corporate investments. Mr. Bhatia briefed the delegates on the technical specifications of the proposed project, which is designed to span approximately 900 acres. The development will feature a “Multiple Land Use Industry” designation, integrating industrial, residential, commercial, and institutional facilities into a single township. The authority highlighted the site’s strategic logistical advantages, which include direct, doorstep access to the Noida International Airport alongside seamless proximity to the Yamuna Expressway, the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and dedicated freight corridors.
The official briefing concluded with a comprehensive physical site visit, during which the Korean delegates toured probable land parcels that have been earmarked by authority planners for potential industrial development by Korean corporations. State officials noted that the bilateral visit and subsequent field inspection are expected to significantly strengthen long-term investment cooperation and manufacturing partnerships between Korean industries and the Yamuna Expressway Authority.
