Low sales not due to demonetisation: Vijay Gupta, Orris CMD
A perfect blend of confidence, risk-taking capability, self-discipline and determination is what best describes Vijay Gupta, CMD of Orris Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. And all these qualities were in full display at a casual interaction Realty & More Editor Palash Roy had with him after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to demonetise currency. Though there is common perception, largely true also, that the real estate sector has been worst hit by the note-ban, Gupta seems rather unperturbed as he says sales were already down and there hasn’t been any direct impact of demonetisation on the real estate sector. He is also confident that the market will revive within six months once the liquidity situation improves. A visionary with years of experience behind him, Gupta has the right pulse on the realty sector the way it functions and importantly the way it is poised to grow in the future. He has shown exemplary leadership qualities in introducing world-class standards, best practices and state-of-the-art technology to Orris. Thanks to his meticulous business acumen, Orris, founded in 2008, is an established brand today. Besides his passion for the realty business, Gupta has introduced ventures across other sectors like education, hospitality and golf.
