Noida International Airport: A New Pillar of Economic Growth for Western Uttar Pradesh

Noida, December 13, 2025: From the very beginning, Noida International Airport (NIA) has been developed with the objective of strengthening the economy of western Uttar Pradesh. A core principle guiding the development of NIA is that the construction and operation of the airport should create a positive and long-term impact on all stakeholders—especially the families in the Jewar region who contributed their land to make this project a reality.

Role of YIAPL and NIAL

  • Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) is the concessionaire company responsible for the development and operation of the airport. It is a private entity working under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
  • Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) is the project implementation agency on behalf of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. It is a joint venture of the Uttar Pradesh Government, NOIDA, GNIDA and YEIDA.

Employment and Partnerships

  • YIAPL has partnered with over 30 experienced companies, including Tata Projects, TFS, Indian Oil, Air India SATS and the Bird Group.
  • Through these partnerships, more than 5,000 employment opportunities will be created at the airport.
  • All jobs include government-mandated minimum wages along with bonus, provident fund (PF), ESI, gratuity and leave benefits.

Special Initiatives for PAF (Project Affected Families)

  • YIAPL, NIAL and the district administration have jointly developed an online career portal through which PAF candidates can apply for jobs.
  • More than 180 PAF candidates have already registered on this portal.
  • Three special recruitment camps were organized on 11 September, 31 October and 2 December 2025, with participation from over 300 candidates.
  • So far, 24 offer letters have been issued.

Skill Development Initiatives

  • YIAPL has renovated two classrooms and toilet facilities at ITI Jewar and equipped them with modern training equipment.
  • Two specialized aviation courses in passenger handling and ramp operations were conducted at ITI Jewar from 19 August to 15 October 2025.
  • A total of 28 students successfully completed these courses, of whom 24 received job offers.
  • Around 100 PAF youth have been trained under programs focused on communication skills, spoken English, behavior and soft skills.
  • These training programs will be conducted on a regular basis at ITI Jewar.
  • A joint committee comprising NIAL, the district administration and YIAPL has been constituted to ensure smooth and effective implementation of these efforts.
