Uttar Pradesh RERA Removes Agents Over Lapsed Registration From Projects
Lucknow/Gautambudh Nagar, February 15, 2025: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority has removed about 2,707 real estate agents over lapse of registrations from the agent section of the projects. Such agents can no longer facilitate the sale and purchase in the projects registered with RERA.
UP RERA is carrying forward the training and certification programme of real estate agents in campaign mode. In Lucknow, the agent training programme is being conducted through India Literacy Board and in Gautambudh Nagar through Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj (CSJM) University, Kanpur. Lucknow centre has already completed training and certification of five batches and Gautambudha centre that of one batch.
This RERA imparted training is mandatory for the real estate agents already registered with RERA as well as new individuals and institutions interested for registration. The training for first batch was started on December 9, 2024 at Lucknow.
The training and certification is a mandatory requirement for registration of individuals and institutions as real estate agents with UP RERA. No new agents can be registered without submitting this certificate, nor can the registration of the agents already registered with RERA be renewed without such certificates. RERA has already informed all the registered agents and all those desirous of fresh registration for getting themselves enrolled on its portal for this training.
As per the information gathered from RERA, there are 6,715 agents registered with RERA out of which 4,448 are from NCR and 2,267 from Non-NCR region. The registration of 1,867 agents from NCR and 840 from Non-NCR has lapsed. So far only 179 agents from NCR and 237 from Non-NCR districts have enrolled for this training out of which only 240 are pre-registered ones. The remaining ones are the new individuals or entities desirous for fresh registrations.

According to UP RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy, the purpose of this training is capacity building of the real estate agents and RERA expects that a trained agent would be in a position to render better services to homebuyers. He also stressed that all the agents registered with RERA should enroll themselves on the web portal of UP RERA for undertaking this training which is both mandatory and beneficial for them. RERA strongly believes that the trained agents will have better skills and capacity to render better services to the consumers.
