Mapsko Group Leads Tree Plantation Drive in Gurugram’s Aravali Belt
Gurugram, August 2, 2025: The Haryana government, CREDAI and Tree Drive Partnering Members participated in a large-scale tree plantation drive near Sushant University, Gurugram, on Saturday.
Under the aegis of Matri Van, a significant part of PM Narendra Modi’s ambitious campaign Ek-Ped-Maa-Ke-Naam, Mapsko Group has been allotted 10 acres of land to drive up the forestation programme to stop desertification of the ecologically sensitive Aravalis.
Under the initiative, Mapsko and other tree drive partners are working together to check the degradation of biodiversity in the Aravali region, which plays a key role in stopping the Thar desert from expanding towards northwest India. The massive plantation aims to connect people with nature organically.

Pankaj Singla, VP, CREDAI, Haryana, and MD, Mapsko Group, said, “The Matri Van Tree Plantation Drive amplifies our collective commitment to preserving the Aravali ecosystem. At Mapsko Group, we are honoured to run the plantation drive on the allotted land of 10 acres in sync with PM Modi’s Ek-Ped-Maa-Ke-Naam campaign. This initiative not only combats desertification but also spurs a deeper connection between communities and nature, ensuring a sustainable future and green economy for generations to come.”
The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Manohar Lal, Union minister for Housing and Urban affairs; Bhupender Yadav, Union minister for environment, forest and Climate Change; Rao Narbir Singh, Minister for environment, forest and wildlife, Haryana; and Vinit Kumar Garg, principal chief conservator of forests, Haryana.
The dignitaries emphasised the critical importance of the plantation drive in the Aravali belt. They highlighted that the initiative is a pivotal step toward preserving the region’s ecological balance.
The Aravalis serve as a natural barrier against the advancing Thar desert, and this large-scale plantation effort strengthens biodiversity, mitigates climate change and promotes sustainable development. They commended the collaborative spirit of CREDAI and its partners, noting that such initiatives exemplify the power of collective action in safeguarding the environment and ensuring a greener, healthier future for northwest India.
