Lucknow / Gautambuddh Nagar, May 13, 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) marked a significant step toward professionalizing the state’s property market on Tuesday by awarding certificates to 173 successful candidates. The recipients, belonging to the 33rd through 36th batches of the “Agent Training Certification Programme,” received their credentials from Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy during a ceremony held at the Authority’s headquarters in Lucknow, UP-RERA said in a press release.

The certification initiative, which first launched in December 2024, has become a cornerstone of the regulator’s efforts to standardize the real estate sector. The program is now mandatory for all agents in the state, including those currently registered and those seeking new licenses. To date, UP-RERA has organized 38 training batches, with over 2,750 candidates registering for the program and 1,320 successfully passing the qualifying examinations held across the state.

The curriculum is structured as a rigorous four-day intensive course. For the first three days, participants receive in-depth instruction on the RERA Act, state-specific rules and regulations, the responsibilities of promoters, and the rights of allottees. The training also covers the legal intricacies of property transactions and relevant stamp registration provisions. On the fourth day, agents must pass a written examination to earn their certification. Applications for the program, which carries a fee of ₹6,000, are managed exclusively through the official UP-RERA website.

Feedback from participating agents has been overwhelmingly positive, with many noting that the direct involvement of senior UP-RERA officials and industry experts ensures the content is practical and relevant. Agents reported that the program has significantly boosted their professional confidence, allowing them to provide more accurate information to homebuyers and operate with a higher degree of transparency. The presence of high-ranking officials at the ceremony, including Principal Advisor Abrar Ahmad and Joint Secretary K.K. Singh, underscored the Authority’s commitment to this educational mandate.

Addressing the assembly, UP-RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy emphasized the critical role these professionals play in the broader ecosystem. “Trained agents play a vital role in ensuring transparency and accountability in the real estate sector. Agents are not merely intermediaries but also responsible stakeholders who safeguard consumer interests. After the training, agents become capable of providing proper guidance to buyers and investors, which helps reduce disputes and strengthens consumer confidence,” Bhoosreddy said.

Looking toward the future, the Chairman indicated that the Authority is exploring ways to make the certification more accessible to professionals across Uttar Pradesh. He further stated that “UP-RERA is committed to further improving the training system and may soon introduce online modules so that interested agents across the state can easily undergo the training.” This move toward digital learning is expected to further expand the pool of qualified agents, ensuring that the state’s real estate transactions are handled by knowledgeable and accountable professionals.
