Uttar Pradesh Showcases Investment Opportunities at U.P.-Japan Investment Meet 2026, Invites Japanese Investors to Partner in Development

New Delhi, August 20, 2026: The Government of Uttar Pradesh organized the U.P.-Japan Investment Meet 2026 at Taj Palace in New Delhi to strengthen economic, industrial, and technological cooperation between the state and Japan. The event brought together over 200 Japanese CEOs, Managing Directors, Country Heads, and senior industry representatives to explore emerging opportunities across key sectors, a press release fromm the Uttar Pradesh government said.

The event featured addresses by Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways, Electronics & Information Technology, and Suresh Kumar Khanna, Finance & Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh. The speakers highlighted the transformation of Uttar Pradesh in recent years, pointing to improved law and order, rapid industrialization, expanding infrastructure, investor-friendly policies, and proactive governance as key factors positioning the state as a major investment destination.

Welcoming the delegation, Adityanath underlined the state’s emergence as an investment hub supported by an extensive network of expressways, airports, industrial corridors, logistics infrastructure, and seamless regional connectivity. He invited Japanese enterprises to become active partners in Uttar Pradesh’s development journey and contribute to India’s broader economic goals.

During the event, Adityanath announced plans to develop a dedicated “Japanese City” spanning approximately 500 acres in Sector-5A of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). The proposed township will feature an integrated industrial, commercial, and residential ecosystem for Japanese businesses and residents. He invited Japanese investors to establish a presence within the dedicated township and explore broader investment avenues across the state.

A major feature of the summit was the Virtual Ground Breaking Ceremony for two large-scale industrial projects within the YEIDA region. The first project involves Escorts Kubota Limited, which has been allotted 154 acres of land in Sector-10, YEIDA. The project entails an investment of approximately Rs 2,029 crore and is expected to generate around 4,000 jobs, with plans to manufacture approximately 60,000 tractors annually alongside various agricultural machinery components.

The second ceremony marked the commencement of Spark Minda Group’s manufacturing developments in Sectors 10 and 24 of YEIDA. Representing a total investment of roughly Rs 1,166 crore, the facilities are projected to create approximately 6,440 employment opportunities. The sites will produce nearly 2 million units annually of electronic switches, sensors, USB chargers, and other automotive electronic components, expanding the state’s automotive and electronics manufacturing capabilities.

In his address, Adityanath identified green hydrogen, solar energy, electronics, medical devices, automotive manufacturing, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing as primary priority sectors for future India-Japan collaboration. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure, skilled labor, and a supportive operational environment for global investors.

The investment meet was attended by Deepak Kumar, Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Alok Kumar, Chairman, YEIDA, Rakesh Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer, YEIDA, and Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, Additional Chief Executive Officer and Nodal Officer, Investment Cell, YEIDA, along with senior government officials and executive representatives from leading Indian and Japanese industrial firms.
