NCR to get its first interchange station at Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden metro station in Noida is going to be the first ever inter-change station in the National Capital Region (NCR), outside the boundaries of Delhi, according to a published media report.
Touted as the ‘Rajiv Chowk’ of NCR, the station will directly connect Noida with South Delhi and even the domestic airport.
The report said this station will provide commuters with an inter-change between the currently operational Noida City Centre – Dwarka Sector 21 corridor and the upcoming Janakpuri West – Botanical Garden corridor. A new building parallel to the existing Botanical Garden station has been built to turn the station into an inter-change point which will be operational by the end of this year.
The new station building will be connected with the existing station with the help of a 20-metre wide slab. Its length will be around 100 metre. There will be platform-to-platform and concourse-to-concourse connectivity.
With the construction of this new inter-change station, travelling time between Noida and Gurgaon will come down by over 30 minutes bringing down the journey time to 50 minutes with an inter-change at Hauz Khas.
