CREDAI Relocates NATCON 2026 to India Following Prime Minister’s National Appeal

New Delhi, May 14, 2026: The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) has announced the relocation of its 23rd flagship convention, NATCON 2026, from Amsterdam to India. According to a press release, this decision follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal for industries to prioritize national interest by reducing non-essential foreign travel and conserving foreign exchange amid the evolving geopolitical situation in West Asia.
CREDAI stated that the shift reflects a commitment to domestic economic resilience and the “Nation First” vision. The move marks a departure from tradition for NATCON, which is typically held at international venues to facilitate dialogue among over 1,000 developers, investors, and policymakers. By hosting the event domestically, CREDAI aims to funnel the significant economic and tourism benefits associated with the convention into India’s own hospitality and allied sectors. The association is currently evaluating Indian destinations and will announce the new host city and revised program details shortly.

Addressing the change in plans, Shekhar Patel, President of CREDAI, noted that while preparations for the Amsterdam event had been underway for six months, the industry felt a responsibility to respond to the Prime Minister’s call. “At a time when the Hon’ble Prime Minister has called upon citizens and industries to act responsibly and prioritise national interest amid the evolving geopolitical situation, CREDAI believes it is important for the real estate sector… to align with this vision and demonstrate collective responsibility during this important time for the nation,” Patel said.
The relocation also comes as the real estate sector grapples with internal economic pressures. Patel highlighted that the industry is navigating rising construction costs for essential materials like steel and cement, alongside persistent labor shortages. “In this environment, it becomes even more important for all sectors to collectively contribute towards strengthening the domestic economy in line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s appeal,” Patel added, reinforcing the sector’s focus on national self-reliance and stability.
