Credai’s Delhi conclave ends on a positive note

NEW DELHI: Credai Conclave 2014 themed ‘Clean India- Skilled India-Strong India’ concluded on Tuesday with the real estate sector on a new high after getting a positive response from various ministers who attended the meet.

Among the ministers who addressed the conclave during various sessions included Urban Development and Housing Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu, Parliament Affairs Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister for Labour and Employment Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister for Skill Development Prakash Javadekar, Minister for Environment and Forests Piyush Goyal, Minister for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy Ram Kripal Yadav, and Civil Aviation Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju.

Speaking about the conclave, C. Shekar Reddy, National President of Credai, said, “This was one of the most successful conclaves where all the ministers expressed their industry-friendly, pro-development stands and assured of more transparent and simplified policies.”

Reddy said the ministers have reaffirmed that infrastructure and housing are the growth drivers for the country’s economy with a potential to generate large-scale employment and will be treated with due importance. Naidu, he said, had announced that a very soon interest subvention scheme would be announced to help the middle and lower-income groups. He has also assured to take concrete steps towards a simplified approval process for the real estate sector.

He said the Labour Ministry empathised with the industry concern for labour shortage in working towards the ‘Housing for All by 2022’ mission and the need to provide benefits to the labour in the real estate sector and providing training to enhance productivity. The minister also appreciated the Credai’s efforts for skill development on-site training programme called Kushal at Pune.
