Enlite Secures Second Patent to Simplify Intelligent Building Management
Mumbai, July 8, 2026: Homegrown deep-tech company Enlite, which specializes in intelligent infrastructure systems, has officially been granted its second Indian patent. The patent, titled “System and Method for Cloud-Based Configuration of Building Management Controller(s),” covers a proprietary system designed to centrally configure and manage building management controllers through a secure, cloud-based framework, significantly lowering the complexity of commissioning and operating smart buildings, Enlite said in a press release.
Configuring field devices across multiple sites has historically been one of the most time-consuming and resource-intensive phases of building automation. Traditionally, engineers had to travel on-site to configure each controller manually, and the entire process had to be repeated from scratch whenever operational changes were required. Enlite’s newly patented technology bypasses these local constraints by adopting a cloud-native approach.

Under this new system, controller configurations can be created, modified, tested, and deployed remotely from a single, centralized platform. Digitizing this entire workflow shortens commissioning timelines, curtails the need for manual on-site intervention, and allows building automation projects to scale rapidly across various properties. Furthermore, the system introduces remote maintenance, real-time synchronization, version control, and robust configuration management, allowing operators to maintain operational consistency across geographically diverse locations without sacrificing accuracy.
Company leadership noted that the achievement marks a significant step forward for the domestic tech landscape. Gaurav Bali, Co-Founder and CEO of Enlite, said, “Our first patent proved the hardware could go wireless. This one proves the entire configuration process can move to the cloud too. Together, they show what a full-stack Indian building automation company looks like.”

The shift from manual field setups to cloud-based systems represents a fundamental change in how large facilities will be managed moving forward. Garima Bharadwaj, Co-Founder and CTO of Enlite, added, “Building automation has always been a physical process, one engineer, one site, one week at a time. This patent moves it into software. Configuration now happens from the cloud, anywhere, in minutes.”
The new technology is slated to benefit a wide array of sectors that depend on secure, scalable, and centrally managed infrastructure, including commercial buildings, airports, hospitals, industrial facilities, educational campuses, hospitality properties, and data centers. With this second patent secure, Enlite continues to expand its intellectual property portfolio and solidify its position as an innovator of domestic, full-stack smart building solutions, the press release added.
